Rumenco Group company Nettex has launched a new range of dairy chemicals supported by a team of experienced on-farm hygiene specialists dedicated to helping farmers improve profit from milk.

Progiene is the new name in farm hygiene and its technical specialists are urging UK milk producers to challenge them to devise more cost-effective hygiene routines. Its refreshing new dairy hygiene product offering is based on farmer feedback and includes teatdips, sprays and foams; circulation and bulk tank cleaners; cluster disinfectants and hoof care agents.

“Mastitis, lameness and poor fertility continue to cause significant financial losses on UK dairy farms, but sound hygiene practices and the use of high quality dairy hygiene chemicals can help maximise milk contract bonus payments,” said Rumenco Group product manager for dairy hygiene, Alison Clark.

Announcing the launch of the new Progiene range at AgriScot [November 20, 2013], Ms Clark pointed out that most dairy farms over-dose cleaning chemicals by 15%.

“This reduces the life of milking equipment and roughens internal pipe surfaces, creating sites for bacteria to multiply. The result is high bactoscans and milk contract penalties running into thousands of pounds. A simple example, but one that provides an opportunity for the introduction of a more efficient and cost-effective dosing solution.”

To mark the Progiene launch, Nettex is offering milk producers a free dairy chemical autodoser worth £1000 with every first order of £2000 or more. “Its innovative dosing mechanism is calibrated to deliver the correct chemical concentration at every wash. The autodoser will help cut product wastage and prolong machine life,” Ms Clark said.

The Progiene dairy chemical range is available from agricultural merchants and can be delivered direct-to-farm in UN-approved packs. Products are available in 5, 25, 200 and 1000-litre containers.

Interested dairy farmers should call 0808 178 1010 for further information and an initial, telephone-based, first consultation.
